If you want to learn to weave --- 4-HARNESS SIX-PACK is the class you want. 

If you want to learn to spin --- TWISTED SISTER is the class for you. 

We also have classes in KNITTING, BEADING, and KUMIHIMO. 

All of our classes are BEGINNER FRIENDLY.

BASIC CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

TWISTED SISTERS. Learn to spin. PART 1: learn about fleeces, carding, and using the drop spindle. PART 2: learn to use the treadle wheel to spin wool. Spinning wheels provided.

 

4-HARNESS SIX-PACK. A six-class series (or four 3 hour classes on Saturdays) on a 4-harness loom (beginning weaving). Learn to plan a project, wind a warp, warp a loom, and weave samples on our studio looms. Includes all supplies.

LEARN TO KNIT with NANCY WEILL. A beginning knitting class; Start a sample project such as a head band, funky hat or scarf, etc. Learn to cast on; knit/purl; cast off; deal with a dropped stitch; increases and decreases and ribbing. May also include reading patterns and yarn labels. 

YOU HAVE TO BE WARPED TO WEAVE. This class is a warping review with warping tips geared to your personal needs. We review planning your warp, winding the warp, tying off the warp, and warping a loom. You will learn short cuts and time saving tips too.

    2-B DOUBLED UP. Learn double weave. This 3-hour class gives you the chance to try double width, tubular, and double layer.

    2-B INSPIRED. A discussion on where to find an idea from art, nature, photos and architecture. Many examples of the 2-B's work, including their recent pieces based on the architecture and landscape of Chicago.

     



    Following is a sampling of other classes we offer. Call if you are interested; we can add any of these to the schedule for 2 or more students. Bring a friend!

     

    Weaving:

    • Tapestry
    • Inkle band
    • 4 & 8 harness techniques including: rosepath border designs; supplementary warp; color & weave (log cabin and shadow weave); overshot; Summer and Winter; Huck lace

    Design:

    • Towel and napkin ideas
    • Rag strip weaving for clothing
    • Rag preparation for rugs

    Beginning Surgery: tips on cutting and sewing handwovens

    Color: stripes and plaids

    Peyote Beading

    Finishing Techniques: fringes, knots, hems, beads

    All classes listed above are taught by both Bev Atseff & Bev Savel unless a guest teacher is mentioned in the description.

    2-B Weavers hosts guest instructors for topics such as knitting, kumihimo and beading.

    We are continually adding new classes, so please check back for our schedule.



    Get your registration in early (email 2-bweavers@sbcglobal.net or phone 708-246-9999) Follow-up with a check to hold your spot. Classes are small with individual attention. On loom and spinning classes are limited in size.

    REGISTRATION POLICY: No refunds made after 7 days prior to the start of a class. If there is not sufficient registration or the 2-B's cancel a class, you will receive a full refund. If at the last minute you cancel, you will receive a refund if you find a substitute or someone is on the waiting list for your spot.
